1. Borax Decahydrate Introduction

 

Borax decahydrate, also known as sodium borate decahydrate or simply borax, is a naturally occurring mineral compound that is often used in various household and industrial applications. It is a semi transparent colorless crystal or crystalline white powder. Borax decahydrate has no odor and a salty taste. When heated to 350-400 ℃, borax decahydrate will lose all its crystalline water and become anhydrous borax. Borax decahydrate is soluble in water and also in glycerol, but insoluble in alcohol.
