1. Borax Anhydrous Introduction

 

Turkey ETiBOR-68 disodium tetraborate anhydrous appearance is white granular or colorless vitreous crystal. The melting point of alpha orthorhombic crystal is 742.5 ℃, and the density is 2.28; The melting point of beta orthorhombic crystal is 742.5℃, and the density is 2.28. It has strong hygroscopicity and can soluble in water and glycerol. Na2B4O7 is slowly dissolved in methanol to form a solution with a concentration of 13-16%. the aqueous solution is weak alkaline, insoluble in alcohol. Anhydrous borax is the product obtained when borax is heated to 350-450 ℃. When placed in air, isodium tetraborate anhydrous can be hygroscopically changed into borax decahydrate or borax pentahydrate.

3. Borax Anhydrous for Gold Mining

 

In gold mining industry, borax anhydrous needs to be added. Borax anhydrous can purify gold and lower its melting point. Borax anhydrous is a fluxing agent with a fluxing effect.
 
When borax anhydrous is heated together with gold, it removes oxides attached to the metal surface, reacts with impurities, and floats on the metal surface without mixing with the metal. After the reaction between borax and gold is complete, put it into boiling oil. Borax decomposes into gas when exposed to heat, while gold remains unchanged when exposed to heat, thus removing borax adhering to the surface of gold.
 
The application of anhydrous borax in gold extraction is mainly reflected in the following aspects:
 
1.Removing impurities: Anhydrous borax can react with impurities in gold to form easily separable compounds, thereby removing impurities from gold. These impurities can be other metallic elements, non-metallic elements, or organic compounds, which can affect the purity and quality of gold.

2.Metal leaching: In the process of extracting gold, disodium tetraborateanhydrous can serve as an oxidant to oxidize the metal into ions dissolved in aqueous solution, thereby achieving the dissolution and separation of the metal. This is very important for improving the separation efficiency and purity of gold.

3.Neutralizing acidity: Acidic solvents are often used in the gold extraction process, and disodium tetraborate anhydrous can act as a neutralizing agent to neutralize acidic solutions, adjust the pH value of the solution, and achieve the most suitable conditions for gold extraction. At the same time, it can also protect equipment and operators.

4.Reducing metal oxides: In fire assay melt samples, anhydrous borax will release boron gas (B2O3) when heated and decomposed. Boron gas has strong reducibility at high temperatures and can reduce metal oxides to their metallic form. This helps to detect metal content, as metals cannot be directly measured in the presence of metal oxides.

5.Promote sample melting: Anhydrous borax will melt during the heating process, forming a liquid with good fluidity, which helps to evenly mix the sample to be analyzed and promote sample melting, making analysis easier.
